Brewing news Serbia and Montenegro: Carlsberg invests EUR 10 million

Carlsberg Serbia brewery in Celarevo started assembling new equipment worth EUR 10 million, which arrived from Germany. The latest storage equipment, manufactured in Netherlands, will increase Brewery's production capacity and enable development and launching of new products in the country, Tanjug quotes company's officials, Serbia & Montenegro Today reported May 18.


Since the privatisation of Celarevo brewery, described by many domestic experts as one of the most successful companies in Serbia, Carlsberg invested in the past two years more than EUR 85 million, with new investments in plan. Liabilities undertaken during the privatisation of the brewery will be completed three years ahead of the deadline, during the year 2007, claim new owners.

On the basis of statistical data of Association of Breweries of Serbia and Montenegro, Carlsberg Serbia's two brands, Lav and Tuborg green, last year recorded the highest growth rate in domestic brewing industry of as much as 69 percent compared to previous years, with a market share of 8 percent.
